📄️ Data migration Overview
Data Migration is the process of selecting, preparing, extracting, and transforming data, then permanently transferring it from one computer storage system to another. It typically comes into scope for Fenergo Clients when either of the following scenarios apply:
📄️ Data Migration API Overview
The activity to migrate data into the Fenergo SaaS platform can be purely client led using the Data Migration Command / Query APIs. Clients can follow the details in this documentation or other training material available to learn how to execute a Migration.
📄️ Execute a Data Migration
Once all the files are uploaded, the Migration can be started. To start a migration call the following PUT Command.
📄️ Creating a Migration Policy
When setting up a migration, a client may not have all the data points required for the policy they have designed for their Target Operating Model. There are two types of Policy on the Fenergo SaaS Platform:
📄️ What are the Data Migration Artifacts?
The artifacts downloaded from the database migration session are a collection of CSV files representing a relational data model based on the Policy which has been configured on the Fenergo SaaS Platform.
📄️ Migrating Content into a Data Group
As covered in the Policy Journey and Entity Introduction, a policy can consist of many Data Points and Data Groups. As illustrated below, a policy is comprised of the following:
📄️ Migrating Associations that Exist Between Entities
An important activity within Client Lifecycle Management is capturing / unwrapping their clients ownership and control Hierarchy. To correctly risk asses and work with clients in a compliant way, institutions conduct this activity under the heading of KYC (Know Your Customer).
📄️ Migrating Documents against Legal Entities
Other than Data and Ownership details, another responsibility of managing a clients lifecycle is to gather specific documents that meet regulatory requirements. The process for gathering documents is via the "Document Requirements" tasks which are configured inside FenX Journeys, but a Document Requirement is not the same as the Document which is used to fulfil that requirement.
📄️ Migrating Products against Legal Entities
Clients can enable the use of Products in Fenergo and can also migrate Products alongside Legal Entities in a Data Migration. To do so the data migration needs to be created with a reference to an appropriate Products Requirement Set. As a perquisite, the Product Enablement Guide needs to be followed. In terms of using the products API, the following guide walks through the use of Working With Products
